About Ripple – A Nature-Inspired Pattern
Each handmade cherrywood coaster in the Ripple series is hand-turned and features a chip-carved pattern inspired by the quiet rhythm of nature, like ripples on water stirred by a gentle breeze. Chip carving is a traditional technique where small cuts are carved directly into the wood, creating a textured relief that brings out both form and structure.
The edge is hand-painted in a water-based, earthy accent colour, and the coaster is finished with linseed oil to protect the wood and enhance its warm lustre. Cherrywood is a living material that deepens in tone over time.
Hand wash only. The top can be re-oiled with neutral food-safe oil if needed.
