When we stop, take a deep breath, and observe the natural world around us, our creativity flows, and we experience a closeness to the genuine and authentic.
It began with an interest in the natural world, birds, and gardens. Our first birdhouses and feeders were designed to complement the house and attract local birdlife. From there, the natural continuation was a series of handmade birds, our beloved collector series, DecoBirds.
The range has grown over time. Today, its products span both the home and garden. They are all characterised by beauty, functionality, and playfulness as we carefully design each piece, collaborating with select experts, producers, and artisans.
Our hallmark is Swedish design that spreads joy and understanding. Our products are a tribute to artisanship, intricate details, and the expressiveness of the material. Guided by knowledge, experience, and creativity, we create timeless and genuine products.
Manchuria, North-eastern China, is where our hand-carved products take shape. For generations, the region's farmers have carved wood during the cold winter when the land is frozen. For over 15 years, we have collaborated with and developed hand-carved products with the same manufacturer. Therefore, many of the same carvers have worked with us for a long time. This strong relationship guarantees quality and continuity in the new birds and products that we create together.
The birds are carved in lime wood and painted with water-based acrylic paint. The paint is waterproof and UV-resistant to a certain extent. However, the colours will fade if placed outdoors for an extended period. Large products, such as woodpeckers, consist of glued wood and should therefore not be placed outside, as this risks the joints cracking.
All our suppliers are committed to following our Code of Conduct on the working conditions of those who work in production. Our Code of Conduct is based on the rules of the Ethical Trade Initiative (ETI), which in turn are based on UN Human Rights and the core conventions of the International Labour Organisation (ILO). In brief, ILO works toward:
- freedom of association, organisation rights and effective recognition of the right to collective bargaining
- elimination of all forms of forced labour
- elimination of child labour
- elimination of discrimination in employment.

Based on these rules, we have developed our Code of Conduct. As a small business, we have a personal relationship with our suppliers and a close collaboration with our manufacturers. We also regularly follow up on compliance with the rules in place. The Code is a minimum requirement for our suppliers. Several of our suppliers have more far-reaching external certifications.
Today, we sell our products globally via an extensive network of retailers in the Nordic countries, Europe, Australia, and North America. Our friendly customer service team can assist customers in Swedish, English, German, and French.
