At Wildlife Garden, we are committed to upholding high ethical standards. Our commitment to sustainability, quality and community shapes our operations and guides our relationships with employees, customers and partners.
This policy defines the framework for sustainability within Wildlife Garden. Its purpose is to provide a guiding platform for conducting responsible business and integrating sustainability into all business decisions. The policy applies to all parts of Wildlife Garden and is directed to the company’s employees. We regularly communicate our sustainability policy internally and to our suppliers to ensure awareness, understanding and compliance.
We evaluate the materials in our products based on environmental impact, functionality, quality and aesthetics. Our ambition is to choose materials that are as environmentally friendly as possible to minimize our environmental impact, and we comply with applicable environmental regulations.
We are dedicated to delivering high-quality products and excellent service. Each product is thoroughly tested and subject to strict quality controls, with traceability through batch numbers. Our workflows are documented and continuously developed. We are committed to receiving and listening to our customers’ questions and feedback.
We design products with longevity in mind, combining timeless design with robust construction. By offering spare parts, we promote repair instead of disposal, thereby reducing waste and preserving resources.
Sustainability is considered at every stage of the product life cycle – from design and material selection to recycling. The products are designed to be easy to repair and disassemble, allowing materials such as wood, metal and glass to be recycled separately.
The well-being of those involved in our production is very important to us. We comply with applicable laws and international guidelines to ensure good and safe working conditions. Through our Code of Conduct (CoC) audits, which we carry out with all our producers, we set clear requirements for safety and a good working environment for both factory workers and other personnel. Our long-term collaboration with suppliers is based on trust and openness. We train our suppliers, conduct regular inspections and follow up to ensure that requirements are met. For the majority of our production – approximately 90 percent – we also engage an independent third party to conduct audits in the form of WCA (Workplace Conditions Assessment) via Intertek.
We also aim to contribute positively to the society around us and therefore engage in various initiatives. These include donations to charities linked to nature conservation, product donations to schools for educational purposes, and support for the local history society, which preserves and promotes local crafts and traditions.
We strive for an inclusive workplace that values diverse perspectives and backgrounds. We aim to create an environment where everyone feels respected, involved and appreciated. Our employee handbook outlines our work environment objectives and core values, which guide us toward a pleasant and safe workplace. To continuously work with and remain mindful of them, we address them in employee reviews, goal-setting activities and company meetings. Each year, activities and team-building events are organized to promote group cohesion and well-being.
All employees are responsible for upholding our work environment objectives. We encourage open communication regarding ethical matters and expect deviations to be reported to the immediate manager. We hold ourselves accountable to our stakeholders and ensure transparency in our actions and decisions.
We have zero tolerance for bribery. Giving or receiving improper benefits is prohibited and may lead to disciplinary action, including termination of employment. A bribe is defined as a gift, service or benefit intended to influence a decision or action in a business context. This includes money, travel and other advantages.
We encourage employees to report suspected bribery or unethical behaviour to their immediate manager.
We work annually and systematically to identify and manage sustainability-related risks, such as climate change, resource scarcity and changing legal requirements, to ensure long-term resilience. By continuously monitoring changes in legislation, we remain up to date and can adapt our operations accordingly.
By actively working with new environmental and sustainability goals, the topic is continuously highlighted within the organization. In this way, we increase transparency and accountability. Continuous education and training in ethics and sustainability ensure that all employees are well informed and engaged.
We work with clear goals and measurable indicators to monitor and improve our sustainability efforts over time. Each year, we set new environmental goals, evaluate our progress and define actions to achieve these goals.
