Salt and Pepper Mill with a Twist

This playfully designed yet functional handcrafted salt & pepper mill will add some personal flare to your kitchen or dining table.

A carved black cockatoo adorns the top of the anthracite-grey mill, and the mill body's chip-carved surface enhances the wood's natural feel.

The mill features a high-quality ceramic grinding mechanism with an adjustable grain size, ensuring precision during cooking. You can adjust the grain size by turning the cockatoo at the top of the mill. As the ground spices come out from the top of the mill, the table surface remains clean from crumbs. Refilling the mill is easy'simply pull the mill halves apart.

Features

About Red-tailed Black Cockatoos

The red-tailed black cockatoo lives in large flocks of up to several hundred birds, is active day and night and is known for being noisy. This nomadic bird moves seasonally across a broad belt in northern Australia.

It is somewhat shy of humans, but you can see them flying in flocks.

This cockatoo is a seed eater, feeding on various native and non-native crops, with eucalyptus seeds being its primary food source. It nests in hollows and relies on trees with relatively thick trunks for its nesting sites. Old eucalyptus or gum trees are usually suitable nesting trees.

There are five recognised subspecies of the red-tailed black cockatoo. They mainly differ in beak size and shape, body size, and the female's plumage. The red-tailed black cockatoo, including two endangered subspecies, is protected under Australian wildlife laws.
