Handcrafted Wooden Salt & Pepper Mill in Joy-spreading Swedish Design

Let this charming wooden salt/pepper mill spread joy in your kitchen. The top of the mill features a carved yellow-breasted cockatoo, and the chip-carved mill body enhances the natural feel of the wood.

The design of the mill ensures culinary perfection with its high-quality ceramic grinding mechanism. You can adjust the grain size by turning the cockatoo, and as the ground spices emerge from the top of the mill, it also ensures that no spices spill onto your surfaces when the mill is not in use.

To refill the mill, pull the halves apart to open the container.

Features

  • A high-quality ceramic grinding mechanism
  • Adjustable grain size with the help of the carved figure
  • Easy refilling by taking the mill halves apart
  • The ground spices come out at the top–fewer crumbs on the table

About Channel-billed Toucans

Toucans are generally social birds, and most species within the family live in groups of 20 or more individuals. They inhabit parts of southern Mexico, Central America, and South America, extending to northern Argentina.

The channel-billed toucan is about 48 cm long, with a 9–14 cm beak. It is easily recognisable by its bright colouring: a mostly black body and beak, a bright yellow breast, a red marking on the lower part of the breast, and blue around the eyes and the base of the beak. The large beak appears heavy but is relatively light as it is mainly hollow.

Like most toucan species, the channel-billed toucan lives in primary and secondary forests with large trees with cavities suitable for nesting. They prefer tropical climates, although some can settle in drier areas. Their diet mainly consists of fruits, but they can also catch insects, frogs, small reptiles, or raid eggs. Toucans also eat peppers, they can tolerate capsaicin, which gives chilli peppers their heat. In areas where humans impact their habitats, they may also eat fruits from plantations.
